Biography
Sam joined Jorgensen, Brownell & Pepin, P.C. in 2023 as a law clerk, and after being sworn into the Colorado Bar in 2024, she became an associate attorney. Sam primarily practices in estate planning, probate, guardianships and conservatorships, and Medicaid.
Sam, a rather curious individual, meticulously asks clients questions and dives into their specific issues to thoroughly understand each unique situation. She then creatively fashions innovative and detail-oriented solutions to each problem, depending on each client's desired outcome. Notably, Sam acts with compassion and care in everything she does.
Prior to joining the firm, Sam received a juris doctor from Michigan State University College of Law (MSUCOL) in May 2023. Sam was sworn into the State Bar of Michigan in November 2023 and the State Bar of Colorado in February 2024.
Before attending law school, Sam received a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice, a Bachelor of Arts in Arabic with a minor in Muslim Studies, and a Master of Science in Law Enforcement Intelligence and Analysis, all from Michigan State University.
While in law school, Sam served as a managing editor of Michigan State Law Review (MSLR) and was the vice president of a popular student organization. An avid writer, she was published in MSLR's print journal and has two other publications in MSLR's Online Forum.
In addition, she received two Jurisprudence Achievement Awards for her writing abilities. Moreover, Sam was an active member of her community; she volunteered as guardian ad litem in the Clinton County Probate Court in Michigan and at numerous expungement fairs across the state of Michigan.
However, Sam is most proud to have planned, organized, and hosted MSUCOL's first-ever student-led expungement fair, where she assisted over 200 people with their various expungement needs.
Finally, during her law school summers, Sam clerked for a general civil practitioner and interned at Wayne County Prosecutor's Office (WCPO) in Detroit, Michigan. As a clerk for a general practitioner, Sam gained experience in numerous areas of the law, including contracts, real estate, personal injury, family law, and landlord-tenant law. In contrast, her. Her internship with WCPO provided her with firsthand experience in violent felony criminal prosecutions.
Outside of the office, Sam enjoys traveling, road trips, and most outdoor activities, such as snowboarding, hiking in the mountains, golfing, and reading by a pool. She also loves spending quality time with friends and family.
