Biography

Stephanie joined Jorgensen, Brownell & Pepin, P.C. in June 2024 as a law clerk focusing on elder law, probate, and estate planning matters. While she proudly hails from St. Louis, MO, Stephanie is excited to bring over 10 years of legal experience to her work, helping families gain peace of mind in navigating the aging process here in Colorado. Stephanie is in the process of applying to become a licensed attorney in Colorado, as she is currently licensed to practice law in Missouri and Wisconsin.

Stephanie started her legal career as a public defender in Wisconsin. In this role, she represented people in court for a variety of cases, from criminal charges to child support issues. Her work covered areas like probation violations, mental health concerns, guardianship cases, and juvenile matters.

Stephanie continued her career as an assistant corporation counsel, where she worked on zoning, child abuse and neglect matters, as well as other protective proceedings involving elderly and mentally ill individuals. Before accepting her position at JBP, Stephanie had the unique opportunity to provide legal guidance to entrepreneurs and nonprofit organizations. Her work covered areas such as corporate governance, employment, intellectual property, entity formation, trademark, regulatory, real estate/zoning, and contract matters.

Stephanie holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Fisk University in Nashville, TN, as well as a Juris Doctor degree from Southern University Law Center in Baton Rouge, LA. In her free time, Stephanie enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and doing all things related to genealogy.
